1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using the Asli Scan mobile application or this website (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Asli Scan is a QR code scanner. It reads ordinary QR codes and verifies product-authentication QR codes issued by brands through the Qrauthix platform. The Service is provided free of charge to consumers.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use the Service. If you are under 18, use it with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

4. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Asli Scan on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the Google Play terms of service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or create derivative versions of the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
• bypass or interfere with app-integrity checks, rate limits or other security measures;
• use bots, scripts or automated means to scan, guess or enumerate product codes;
• use the Service to present counterfeit goods as genuine, or for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
• overload, disrupt or attempt unauthorised access to our servers or networks.

6. What a Verification Result Means

A "Verified" result means the scanned code matches an active record in our system and shows the product information supplied by the brand that issued it. We verify records, not physical items: we do not inspect products, and a result is not a guarantee of a product's quality, safety, expiry or fitness for purpose. A failed result means the code could not be confirmed — contact the brand or seller before relying on the product. Brands are responsible for the accuracy of the product information they provide.

7. Ordinary QR Codes and Third-Party Content

QR codes can lead to websites, apps or actions controlled by third parties. We do not control or endorse that content and are not responsible for it. Check a link before you open it and be careful with codes from unknown sources.

8. Intellectual Property

The app, website, names, logos and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. Brand names and product information shown in verification results belong to their respective owners.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

10. Availability and Changes

We may update, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We do not guarantee the Service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. Verification requires an internet connection.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on a verification result, a third-party QR code, or your use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Termination

We may suspend or block access to the Service if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at the place of our registered office have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have where you live.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
